Bollywood Film Series

Greenfield Garden Cinemas, in association with journalist and curator Vidhi Salla will be hosting Bollywood movie nights on the second Monday of every month. Every screening will be preceded by a brief cultural introduction by Salla. Salla is a celebrated cultural arts curator, author and radio personality from Mumbai, recently relocated to the New England area. Audiences will be invited for a post-screening Q&A.  Shree 420 January 13 6:30pm A black-and-white classic from 1955, Shree 420 was the highest grossing film of its year and remains an unparalleled classic to this day. Shree 420, meaning Mister 420 is derived from the Indian Penal Code for fraud. It is the story of an orphan named Raj who comes to Bombay in search of work and get wrapped up in the world of wealthy gamblers and swindlers. It's a searing commentary on the distribution of wealth in human society and has beautiful songs that punctuate the narrative.

Admission: Tickets are $10.50 for Adults, $8.50 for Students, Seniors and Veterans.
